IDLE THUMBS is a Netherlands based band funded in 2022 during the hardships of COVID. These 4 lads were introduced by their former ladettes and soon enough became acquainted. In hopes of finding a way to cope with the isolation COVID had inflicted, they turned to recording studios which were forgotten by the COVID’s restrictions. These were the ideal place for clandestine rendezvous.

​Inspired by the English phrase the devil makes work for idle thumbs, the band was consolidated. Since then, they have released 2 albums and this year an EP.

I met the lead singer, Jake, who asked me to re-design the band's visual identity. I ended up re-designing their typography and their logo by creating a lil character. I wanted to make the band more visually recognisable and also manifest in some way the band's motto. That's how this naughty devil's hand was born. The band still can't decide which icon they want to use, so I'm showcasing both.
