EUROPEAN HERITAGE DAYS

TYARI GRANI is 1/13 art works selected to be developed during a 2 year residency co-funded by European Union under the Creative Europe Programme. MANIFEST: New artistic perspectives on memories of the transatlantic trade of enslaved people aims to contribute to and enhance the re-imagination of Europe’s collective memory of the transatlantic trade of enslaved people.

Dive into Tyari Grani, an immersive underwater virtual reality experience that explores the repercussions of the transatlantic slave trade. From the shores to the depths, embark on a unique journey of magical and spiritual ancestral reconnection with the descendants of the African diaspora. Participate in ceremonial rituals of commemoration, forgiveness, and redemption. After experiencing this, the echoes of history become unforgettable.

As a team, we recognise the enduring repercussions of historical traumas within our societies, often overlooked by conventional approaches that foster division and hopelessness. Our mission transcends these barriers, aiming for compassion and solidarity among all individuals in contemporary societies, but especially to those who are descendants of the African diaspora.
Coming from cultural backgrounds rich in spiritual traditions, we understand the transformative power of rituals in addressing trauma. True healing commences by acknowledging these wounds and engaging in rituals that illuminate, awaken, and honor our experiences. Holding space for pain marks the initial stride towards profound healing.
